Her summer studies took her to American Ballet Theatre and on scholarship tours throughout Europe with Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp’s Ballet Ensemble. She has also had the privilege of studying and performing with Carol Greenaway and as a member of Jefferson Baum’s Great Lakes Youth Company.

Kayla earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Business Administration from Alma College, where she trained on scholarship with Thomas Morris and Carol Fike. While at Alma, she performed as a soloist in George Balanchine’s Serenade and danced professionally with the Greater Lansing Ballet Company under the direction of Barbara Banasikowski-Smith.

In 2010, Kayla joined Fort Wayne Ballet as a company member under the direction of Karen Gibbons-Brown and Jeremy Blanton. There, she danced many leading roles, including those in Grand Tarantella, Paquita, The Nutcracker, Coppélia, and Sleeping Beauty. In 2012, she moved to Florida and became a company member of the Tampa Bay Ballet, directed by Lindsay Clark, where she is currently in her second season.

Kayla is thrilled to bring her experience and passion for dance to A & G Dance Academy and is looking forward to a fantastic year of teaching and inspiring the next generation of dancers!
